It's Christmas Time

It always fun when you get to photograph your friends, and today was no exception.
I have had the pleasure of photographing this young fella 3 times since birth. He is the cutest little boy with a smile that could light up a room. He's become a permanent fixture in my life along with mom.
I was honored when she asked me to capture the beauty of her perfect little family once again.

This was a priceless moment...I'm so glad I caught on it on camera...He was singing...or trying very hard to.

7 Days of Elena

Well I have to say I was pretty excited about this shoot, a girl...finally, it seems lately I have had my share of photographing boys...not to say I don't love them, but it was a nice change. Having the opportunity to meet Elena at only a mere 7 days,  I have to say was wonderous. I love babies so so much!!
She was the perfect little angel for our shoot. Thanks so much Mom and Dad for allowing me to invade your home, and to photograph your beautiful daughter.

A Little Brother...we call him ....Parker

It was a nice treat to photograph a newborn again. Although I have to say I almost forgot what it was like to handle one.. :0)
Little Parker was such a trooper, allowing me to flip and flop him this way and that way in an attempt to get some great shots. Grayson & Spencer are thrilled to be big brothers. What a cute family. It sure is a pleasure getting to meet so many wonderful "little people"

Yep...they're getting Hitched! E-Pics - Tawnya & Jay

I have to say these guys were alot of fun to work with and depsite the bitter cold weather we had a rather interesting day (to say the least) during this photoshoot. :)
Out of nowhere we were showered with a light dusting of snow which added quite the ambiance to the atmosphere.
Not to mention whatever I suggested this couple was game for. There's nothing that makes me happier than when my photo subjects are brave enough to do what it takes to get that "perfect" shot.
Not only did I complete a photoshoot...but a great workout as well. Walking the rocks and hills of Elora Gorge was no easy feat.

Here is just a sample of our funfilled day!

Brotherly Love

What a treat it was to meet this lovely family. These are probably 3 of the cutest little men I have ever met. With personalities to match. Mom is definitely out numbered in this house full of boys :)
We had a great time taking some photographs at a local park. Then ventured back to the family home for a few more. The end result...some pretty awesome pics. It was tough choosing just a few teasers to share.

Linkor Images Random Draw Photoshoot

We had another spectactular day of weather for this shoot, it was a little chilly but quite nice nonetheless.
Jess and Tom were the lucky winners of the free photoshoot courtesy of Linkor Images Photography.
With the exception of dad being a little camera shy, the pics turned out great....and  I did manage to get a few good smiles out of him...as you can see below :)
I don't think I have ever seen a picture of Ryley not smiling,  so I knew he was going to be a piece of cake to photograph. He was ready for every pic I took.

A Family Affair

The day could not have been more beautiful for the family shoot I had this past weekend. I had the pleasure of meeting some pretty awesome grandparents, parents, and some really great kids.
We did some indoor/outdoor photos on the family property. I loved the idea of doing them at their home...it made them unique, unlike others I have done in the past.
They were even so kind as to invite me to stay afterwards for some coffee and yummy treats.

Presenting.....Miss Victoria

I had the pleasure of doing a photoshoot with my friends daughter this past week. What a beautiful little girl she is. Mom voiced some concerns that day on whether or not we would have successful shoot, with her teething and all.  BUT...we had a great shoot. That was until after she had a little combat nap in between poses. :)
All in all I think I manged to capture some great moments.

Tips On What To Wear For Your Photography Session

Step 1:
Choose clothing for one person first
You don't have go out and buy all new outfits for your photo. Most times, you can get a great look by building your clothing around one person's outfit. It's usually best to start with the person in the group who has the least amount of clothes or who is hardest to pick an outfit for. Look through their closet for a great piece you want them to wear for the photos. You might also consider buying an outfit for that person and going from there.

Step 2:
Build the rest of the group's outfits based on the first person

Now that you've got one person's clothing done, you can build the rest of the group's outfits.

General rules to remember when choosing outfits:

Keep in mind where you are going to be shooting
Are you going to be indoors or outdoors? Is the area paved, muddy, rocky, or grassy? What kind of colors would look best in that setting? If you will be outside, it's a good idea to wear clothes you would be comfortable sitting on the ground in.

Stick to one style

Make sure everyone in the group is wearing one style of clothing such as classy (formal wear, suits, dresses, etc.), casual (shorts, t-shirts, sandals, etc.), or contemporary (a mixture of classy and casual--like a dressy top with jeans and heels).

Avoid loud patterns or huge logos or words on an outfit
Smaller patterns on part of an outfit look fine, but keep it to one or two people in your group. Patterns should compliment each other, not draw attention away from the main subject of the photo, you!

Colors don't have to match, but they do need to go together.
Clothing from the same color pallette or based on colors in one outfit tend to create a cohesive look without feeling too "matchy." We love fun and vibrant colors; they help the portraits "pop" off the screen or print, but remember, the emphasis of the photos should be on your faces, not your clothing.

Think about shades of black and white.

Since your package may include images in black and white, you will want to think about how your outfits would appear in those shades.

Bring accessories and props that pull together the outfit
Using props and accessories is a good way to get different looks out of a single outfit. Think about things that characterize you and your personality: scarves, purses, shoes, items from your line of work, hobbies, and interests.

Hands and Feet
Often, we will take photos of details like hand-holding, rings, and family feet! Remember to clean and trim nails for these shots. For feet, if you have matching shoes or shoes in the same shade, that's a plus. Of course, we love bare feet too.

Life is not about waiting for the storms to pass…it’s about learning how to dance in the rain

I was elated when I awoke yesterday to pink skies.  I thought to myself thank you mother nature for co-operating for today’s photo shoot.  However, by the time I was half way to my destination those pink skies had turned to gray and then the rain began to fall.
I was getting worried I made the long trek only to have to cancel…. ….luckily for us by the time we started shooting it was just a light mist so we decided to go ahead and get as many pics as we could until the weather became an issue.
These family members were troopers for my repeated requests, and in great spirits despite the weather conditions. You would have never known it was a miserable wet day.
On the upside we had perfect lighting conditions…and it made for some pretty awesome pictures I’d say.
