Wedding - Jay & Tawnya, August 27, 2011

The best way to desrcibe this day - Absolutley Perfect - because everything about it was just that-Perfect!
The weather - the dress - the location ..the list goes on....

I had the pleasure of meeting this incredibly cute couple last year when I did their engagement shoot and booked their wedding. Seeing them again this year and witnessing the growth in thier relationship was truly an honor to be part of.
What I didn't know about them was not only were they about to become husband and wife, but a family as well, and Tawnya a new step-mother to a gorgeous little diva we'll call M - A job I know she will be amazing at. Watching them interact as little family that day made my heart melt.
The photos posted below sure tell that story.

I can't tell you how thrilled I am for the 3 of you,  as you start your new journey in this thing called life.
I wish you many years of bliss!!! You deserve it!!!

Thank you for allowing me to be part of the most important day in your life.

Maternity Session - It's a BOY!!!!!

I couldn't wait to get home to start working through these photos. I got way more than I bargained for when I booked this girl for the outdoor maternity shoot. Due in 3 weeks from now this momma had no fears. She scaled rocks and creeks and climbed.... What a trooper!!

Joanna...I was so impressed with you and your natural beauty. She thinks she isn't photogenic...you be the judge..Cause quite frankly I thought she had it all :)

I had a wonderful time doing the shoot and getting to know you. I wish you all the best with your new bundle of joy.

Here's a few of faves...I couldn't choose just 3...

These photos will serve as samples for use in my portfolio.

I will provide 10 of the best photos on CD to the lucky participant.

Should the weather be an issue an alternative date will be arranged.

If you or someone you know is interested in helping me not only build my portfolio,  but capture a lifetime of memories.....then this is the opportunity.

"The Promposal" - James & Emma

“Promposals” have taken Canadian high schools by storm.

Once posed as a timid “Will you go to prom with me?”, the promposal is now an extravagant public affair.

Think choreographed dance numbers, serenades, elaborate scavenger hunts and dramatic staging, with “Prom?”....painted on cavalcades of cars, draped off bridges or slipped into fortune cookies...or in James & Emma's case...over the air waves.

To date - This was probably the most excited I have been to do photoshoot. I was surrounded by swarms of highschool students dressed in thier finest....and me....I was in total awe of the lavish collection of dresses and ohhh so many amazing pairs of shoes. For a moment I actually contemplated jumping in the limo and sneaking off to prom with them. I remember my prom night and I know those kids were in for a stellar evening.

I had fascinating time hanging out with such a great group of kids.

It was quite difficult to narrow it down the 3 photos to share with you - I'm in love with so many of them....but here are just a few....

Kates & Bates *The Duke & Duchess of Cambridge* April 30, 2011

What can I say about Kates & Bates....for starters they are cutest couple- and couldn't be more perfectly matched for one another.
I was over the moon with excitement when they asked me to do the photos for thier wedding..and so unbelievably nervous all at the same time...it was here...finally...an opportunity to photograph what I love..weddings.

I spent hours and hours fiddling with my camera,  brain storming ideas on how to capture those oh so perfect moments.. perfect lighting and perfect angles...Not to mention there always seems to be that bit of added pressure when your friends are involved.

What I didn't realize or expect about shooting a friends wedding was the emotional side of things...like when speeches began and I had to wipe my tears a half dozen times. Watching Katie's grandfather serenade her and her new husband was breathtaking..just an incredible moment. I had the most fun and amazing day with everyone. I was touched in so many ways and took so much from the experience. I cannot wait to have many more just like it.

Congratulations once again.......

Much Love...xoxo

Little Bones

Meet James....... He couldn't be any more the absolute spitting image of his father.

His mom just so happens to be one of the first few friends I met when I moved to this city.
I was elated when I found out she was expecting... and when she asked me to do the photoshoot I jumped at the chance.
I could hardly wait for the moment she delivered so we could plan our session.
Although we didn't get around to it till  9 weeks later....

He certainly challened us all...and had mom and I in a sweat trying to keep the him happy and still get some good shots. Dad was a great help,  although a little camera shy... as you can see the tender moments came easily for him... :)

Love this photo...It reminds me of an Old Navy ad.

March Madness Mini Session Teasers

Just a couple of photos to share of the March Madness Mini Sessions:
Ironically enough...these 2 are cousins....absolutely gorgeous children!

Future Sports Fan - Braiden

I couldn't think of a better way to spend my morning than with this 4 week old bundle of love.
Although Braiden was not happy about his session, posing or having photos snapped of him,  he did settle for a few. It seemed no matter what mom did to try and calm him he wanted no part of what was taking place.  Cant say I blame him...after all when I walked through the door he was nestled all snuggly in his cradle.
All in all our shoot was a success...

Braiden you melted my heart ....meeting little people like you makes every element of my job awesome.

Hugz to you..xo

Growing Up - Buh Bye Sippy Cups - Hello Learner's Permit

I thought today I'd take a moment to share a few photos of  2 special very people who are near and dear to my heart...my sons...whom as of lately, have been growing up before my eyes.

Only a few short months ago my youngest (he's 3 1/2) was still so dependant on me, and it seems like overnight he has evolved into this little independant person who is starting to need me less and less :(
He is potty trained and no longer has a "choochie" or uses a sippy cup...those were the last of the babyhood things he was to graduate from :(
He's a big boy now.....** Sniff*** Sniff**....I'm having a moment

Thank goodness for newbie sessions and getting my fill of babies...:)

And then ....there's my eldest.... this Friday he will be 16 - old enough for a girlfriend - and old enough to drive...YIKES! Where did the time go?? I remember a conversation we had - what seemed like yesterday, about him learning to drive.  I remember telling him how long away it was (he was 7 at the time) and that we would talk about it when the time came...now...here we are- and yes - he wants to drive!

Although my boys are almost a generation apart and dont have a whole lot in common these days.
I know one day they will hold a special bond, like the one I carry with each of my siblings.

In the meantime...I'm just going to embrace every lasting moment I have with them because before too long  they'll be grown and gone..

Love and hugz to you my boys...with every fibre of my being...you are the centre of my universe.

Love,
Mommy..xo

C & M = CMM.......The Favetta's

I know what it's like growing up with 2 older brothers and I'm certain that some day down the line this girl is going to have 2 very protective brothers watching over their little sister.

Just a mere 6 weeks,  this little pumpkin was an absolute pleasure to photograph. I couldn't wait to share some teasers with the family. I spent a wonderful afternoon in their home. While the babe fell in and out sleep - and in between feedings we managed to capture some real tender moments.
Take note of the tiny bubble her on her sweet little lips in the first pic...I think this is one of my favorite photos to date...just too sweet for words.

Jaxon

I had the pleasure of spending my sunday afternoon with this darling little guy named Jaxon and his parents. He arrived full of smiles - just as fast, those smiles quickly turned to tears and he began to fuss..so we sat and chatted while dad gave babe a quick feeding, then we got back to work...
Shortly thereafter he spit up... and again...and again... who knows how many times :)
Despite all the bumps along the way,  I think even  mom will be surprised at how many great shots there are.

Sisters - The Stefan Family

I couldn't wait to get editing after this shoot. There were so many great shots. I knew I was going to have a hard time selecting only a few to add to the blog.  They had the most beautiful little girls. Their eldest daughter was one of my shyest clients to date...She was as sweet as pie...and boy did she make me work. I said all kinds of silly things to get this girl to smile, and there was no breaking her. It wasn't until the tail end of the shoot with the help of Mom and Dad did she finally start to come out of her shell. She is the best big sister and loves to do what she can to help out mom.  I enjoyed every moment I spent with them.

Ladies and Gentlemen Please Welcome Rose Marie Joy.....

This session was special to me because this little slice of heaven just so happens to be my friends 1st born.
We had planned within days of her giving birth to do a newborn shoot, how ever fate had other plans.
Rose came into our world on December 6th, 2010 with an undetected Heart Condition called Transposition of the Great Arteries. The next 2 weeks of her life were spent in McMaster and Sick Kids hospital, where this little fighter braved 2 surgeries to correct the vessels and position them to what should have been a normal functioning heart. Mom and dad endured a gruelling 6 weeks while their bundle of joy recuperated.

Here we are 2 months later and  I'm happy to report she is doing remarkably well. While she still has a long road ahead, she is the perfect picture of health.

A Bakers Dozen

For the 2nd time in recent months I had the pleasure of capturing the total awesomeness of this beautiful family. However,  this time the whole brood was together...all 13 of them. Parents* siblings* significant others*children (5 children to be exact..all boys,....under the age of 5 and were they some CUTE!!) It was a house full of chaos and I absolutely loved it.  It reminded me of what it was like to all be together at my parents house during the holidays. :)

This was my first big family photoshoot, so needless to say I was a little anxious and nervous all at the same time, unsure of what to expect. They were more than welcoming and made me feel right at home...I was in stitches within moments of walking through the door. They are quite the bunch. I had the best time getting to know them all, and hope to see more of them in the future.
